One Missed Call

What Makes This A Thriller?

This should be in the thriller genre because it is a fast paced, frequent action, suspenseful film. It creates fear in the audience from the things we don't see.

What Makes This A Thriller?

The majority of the film is set in black and white or dark lighting. One of the first scenes in this trailer was a dead woman lying across a bed with "Marv" at the foot of it saying the "cops were in on it" This shows a twist in the conventional thriller and starts the film off on a dark menacing mood

Rhianna, you identify all the narrative techniques well and apply media terminology but your analysis lacks detail as you list aspects that are present rather than analysing them in depth. Try to explain how these are techniques are used in the clips you have chosen and also consider micro aspects such as sound, lighting etc.
